Cycle Touring Cambodia Sisophon to Siem Reap

March 3rd Sisophon to Siem Reap 110km

An early start to find breakfast and then hit the road about 7.45am.  The road continued to be in great shape all the way with the majority being dead straight and flat.  Almost every child waved and shouted hello as we went past as thy travelled to or from school, many riding bikes so big that they could either pedal or sit on the saddle but not both at the same time.

We passed through small villages but we still haven’t got the stands sussed out yet so didn’t buy anything even though a cold drink would have been nice.  Water buffalo, humpbacked cows, ponies and pigs grazed tethered at the side of the road.  We also passed several workshops producing statues.

After 5 hours we had arrived at Siem Reap which is a modern city with a western influence.  At lunch we chatted to the owner of the restaurant who said the road in general is ok but we have just covered the best stretch so we will see.

Found a nice hotel for $22US a night with breakfast, cable and pool, we are really roughing it!

Tomorrow Angkor Wat.
Last nights aerobics, no instructor just atv set!

1st morning Cambodia

One big tug of war

Straight and smooth, check the scooter in the distance
